Not just any old TOP CACHE, but one of my best caches ever. With the expert assistance of Purple Pineapple and Merstham Mafia I overcame my fear of heights to abseil to this cache. At one point I thought I'd never get back up again, but eventually I dragged myself to the top.

I was too scared really to enjoy it, but was very pleased to have done it. At the time I thought it unlikely I would do anything similar again, but things change and I've now done lots of things like it - but as the first it is one I'll never forget 🙂.

A quirky location and an excellent hide. Appropriately found during Wimbledon fortnight 🙂.

Bit of a battle to get to GZ, then a simple spot and climb 🙂.

A small group of extreme caches set on bridges along a disused railway line. All of them are nearly close enough to reach - but not quite 🙂.

Virginia Water - Breakheart Hill

A pleasant surprise while I was walking round Virginia Water to set a cache of my own. I was expecting the lovely location, though it will be much lovelier in 3 months time than it is in the middle of January. But I wasn't expecting such a good quality, well stocked box - such things tend to be rather rare in this area. And that lifted the cache into my top 2% 🙂.

A series of puzzles leading to tree climbs, with Heartstones being the best of the climbs.

Released

As I said in my log at the time, this was a cache that every cacher should do.

It's a shame that it was archived. kewfriend suggested I recreate the cache, which I have been honoured to do, albeit in a slightly different form as there is now another cache at the original location.

What made this one stand out was that it was published for an event, and visible from the pub 🙂. A straightforward climb.

A good puzzle and a different perspective on an interesting final location. This one missed the first round of TOP CACHES but came to my attention when Groundspeak introduced "Favourites" and I went back through my finds again.

Now archived.
